Rock Lily welcomes a live performance from lead singer of Southern Sons, Jack Jones, while 24/7 Sports Bar screens the best live sport from around the country.
After-dark party at Sky Terrace
Bask in the warm summer evening while enjoying a sizzling barbecue at The Star’s rooftop bar, Sky Terrace this Australia Day.
Bring your mates for an action packed after-dark party and take advantage of the panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline while you sip on watermelon cocktails and listen to the sounds of CC Disco, Adi Toohey and Paris Groovescooter.
Between sets have your face painted or challenge your friends to badminton or totem tennis, before hitting Glitterbox – a colourful glowing cube on the terrace that you can dance in.
Presented on Sky Terrace by Sydney Festival, Glitterbox is a never before seen installation by Sydney-based performance art powerhouse zin that invites guests to pick their favourite dance song and enter the cube to be engulfed in glitter for their own mini dance party.
Entry to Sky Terrace is free from 5:00pm and the schedule includes:
- 5.00-7.00pm: CC Disco
- 7.00-9.00pm: Adi Toohey
- 9.00-11.00pm: Paris Groovescooter
One of Sydney’s greatest live music venues, Rock Lily is celebrating Australia Day with a free live performance by Jack Jones, lead singer and guitarist of legendary Aussie band Southern Sons, who will hit the stage after up-and-coming artist, Gemma Stone warms up the crowd. Fans can sing along to all the classics including ‘Hearts in Danger’, ‘Hold Me in Your Arms’ and ‘You Were There’. Doors open from 5.00pm and entry is free.
24/7 Sports Bar
Catch all the sporting action from around the country live and loud at 24/7 Sports Bar this Australia Day. You won’t miss a minute of the action with six mega-screens, more than 50 LCD TVs and the massive 34-square metre LED screen.
Kick back from 2:15pm onwards with the Australia vs Pakistan Cricket Test Series before switching to day 11 of the Australian Open at 7.00pm, followed by the Australian soccer A-League match between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory at 7.45pm.
On Australia Day and into the weekend punters can enjoy roaming entertainment, Tooheys New schooners for $5.50, while Fuel Grill inside 24/7 Sports Bar serves the mouth-watering Great Australia Burger for $10 and an unbeatable chicken wing special with 12 wings for $12. Choose from Vegemite, sweet and sour, and Jack Daniels BBQ varieties. Entry is free.
