Sydney Airport welcomes Mach2 in exciting new dining precinct announcement

  • New precinct will include a range of new food brands: Grand Cru, Roll’d, Soul Origin and Hokka Hokka

Sydney Airport has announced Mach2, from the famed Machiavelli restaurant family, as one of the first casual dine-in spaces to open as part of T1 Departures’ exciting transformation of the food and beverage offering.


Opening in June, Mach2 will deliver a unique and memorable Sydney culinary experience.
The announcement of Mach2 follows an extensive process undertaken by Sydney Airport to source the very best in food and beverage offerings for the revitalisation of T1.

Mach2 is managed by Airport Retail Experience, the same airport retailer which delivered MoVida, Toby’s Estate and Brasserie Bread to the airport.


“Mach2 will bring gravitas to the new casual dining precinct, from its stylish and modern fit-out seating 80 people and featuring Machiavelli’s famous wall art, to the generous culinary selections which will offer passengers a contemporary twist on some of Machiavelli’s signature dishes,” Sydney Airport General Manager Retail Glyn Williams said.


“The new precinct will showcase a greater selection of gourmet dining choices for passengers including Grand Cru, a premium bar and café which will feature a retro airport lounge feel where passengers and visitors can relax.”


Airport Retail Enterprise CEO John Chapman said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of Mach2 and Grand Cru at Sydney Airport’s T1. We’ve had great success in partnering with high profile chefs to bring a unique offering to the savvy traveller seeking a quality, in-airport dining experience. The new, on-trend food offerings will undoubtedly enhance the overall passenger experience in T1.”


Other food brands launching in T1 over the coming months include Roll’d, Soul Origin and Hokka Hokka, ensuring passengers have an assortment of healthy and tasty food options to choose from across a range of price points.
