FOMO alert. Cruise company Royal Caribbean is broadcasting on digital billboards by using Periscope. The #ComeSeekLive video series is showcasing some serious wanderlust as it live broadcasts on more than 70 digital billboards across New York as well as on its social channels. The campaign aims to showcase both an unexpected adventurous side to cruising and the technology available onboard.
Instagram has hopped straight on the GIF train with the launch of new app ‘Boomerang’. The stand alone app is a fast and simple way of making GIF-like videos which you can share to Facebook or Instagram instantly. It’s also started to limit the length of caption shown – you now have only three lines to make your point before having to click ‘more’.

More and more brands are increasing their digital ad spend. Nescafé in particular is not afraid to experiment to reach the millennial market . It’s using Tumblr instead of websites, embracing Snapchat and Periscope and has already tried out the new 360 video trend. Over in the US, Target is now spending 12% of its paid media spend on social and has pulled out all of the digital stops for this year’s holiday campaign.
