Move over Kylie Jenner, a humble egg has become the most-liked post on Instagram. Brands immediately jumped onto the viral post with their own clever brand marketing, including Tarte, Nyx, and American fast-food giant White Castle.
2. Goat fund me
A campaign has been launched by Nevada City to employ goats to prevent devastating wildfires. If enough funds are raised, a number of hungry herds will graze on the flammable, dry bush across the city.
3. Wing woman
Benefit is the latest beauty brand to embrace inclusivity. The company recently announced Kate Grant, a 20-year-old model with Down syndrome, as one of it's new ambassadors.
4. It's a (potato) wrap
The Guardian has become the first English newspaper to use biodegradable wrapping. Made from potato starch, the wrapping can be disposed of in compost and food bins.
5. Cyborg seabirds
Seabirds could soon be equipped with GPS trackers. The sensors would reveal detailed data about where the seabirds settle, helping scientists monitor ocean currents.
