Stick figures, huge figures, who tweeted what on Australia Day and the latest in digital daycare.

While the passive aggressive ‘Be Like Bill’ Facebook meme continues to spark heated comments and lots of likes as well as dislikes, the trending stick figure has already announced it will be selling merchandise, cashing in on its popularity. If you fancy a Be Like Bill mug, poster, t-shirt or phone case to either annoy or pleasantly surprise someone, now’s your chance.

This week we heard about our personal contribution to Facebook’s ridiculous record profit growth. It now earns $US13.54 from every user. They have also clocked up more than 100 million video hours in the past year.

That said, Facebook must have been feeling generous after the bumper year, dropping WhatsApp’s annual $0.99 subscription fee and promising not to go down the ad route, instead experimenting with tools to allow us to communicate directly with the brands we want to hear from. Hmmm…

If you want to see a digital snapshot of who tweeted what and when for Australia Day, this handy slider breaks it all down for you.

Nothing is off limits when it comes to outsourcing our daily tasks. The latest trend? Digital daycare. Surveillance bears linked to your iPhone, baby Fitbit and remote bedtime reading are some of the latest apps on the market for time poor, tech savvy parents.
