Fairfax Metro launches new digital brand Daily Life

Fairfax Media Metro Division today launches the newest property in its Fairfax Women’s Network – Daily Life.

Led by former Sunday Life editor Sarah Oakes, Daily Life is a new digital source of news and lifestyle content for busy Australian women. It offers its audience the perfect daily mix of opinion, food, style, beauty, health, relationships and more.

According to Roy Morgan data, women are a faster growing online audience than men with 8.2 million* Australian women online in the past four weeks.

“We have built Daily Life for Australian women aged 30-45 who take an active interest in the news of the day as well as enjoying fashion, food, intelligent commentary and debate,” said Melina Cruickshank, General Manager of Fairfax Women’s Network.

“At Fairfax we are following our audience’s needs and offering content on platforms that truly suit women and their lives. Daily Life will allow women to enjoy the digital experience through the week on iPad and the web and on weekends they can relax with our magazine extension Sunday Life.”

Daily Life will also become the exclusive Australian arm of Shopstyle, one of the most vibrant fashion communities on the web. Daily Life readers will access a customised search engine devoted to fashion with thousands of international and local stores.

The highest calibre contributors from the Fairfax stable will be part of the Daily Life team including Julia Baird, Jacinta Tynan, Sarah McDonald, Clem Bastow, Jacqueline Maley, Dom Knight and Michelle Bridges.

Editor Sarah Oakes said: “Daily Life’s contributors will give unique points of view, provocative opinions and, most importantly, a forum for lively discussion and debate on the big issues of the day.”
