The Age, SMH and Domain.com.au best apps of 2011
Fairfax Media’s apps from The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and Domain.com.au have been named among the best iPad apps in Apple’s annual App Store Rewind list of the best and most downloaded apps in 2011.
The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age iPad apps for iPad were among the top five news applications for iPads and Domain.com.au was one of the top lifestyle apps.
The success of the apps demonstrates Fairfax Media’s leadership in new media and its ability to adapt to changing audience habits, according to Fairfax Metro Mobile Director, Rick Gleave.
“Fairfax Media produces Australia’s leading journalism, and the popularity and success of our iPad apps shows that there is an appreciative audience for our content in a range of platforms,” Gleave said.
“As well as our expertise in news, we’re bringing the best lifestyle content to life with apps like Domain.com.au which make the user experience engaging and efficient when dealing with all things property,” he said.
Fairfax Media has also recently launched iPad and iPhone apps for its hugely successful Good Food Guides which help find the best places to eat and drink or grab a coffee in Sydney, Melbourne and, coming soon, Brisbane.
