SBS partners with Microsoft's Xbox LIVE

SBS has partnered with Microsoft to make its content available on the Xbox LIVE service.

The new range of programming on the Xbox LIVE service, which includes programs from SBS’s digital channels SBS ONE and SBS TWO, will be available to anyone with an Xbox LIVE subscription*.

The partnership builds on SBS’s commitment to making its content available across a range of platforms. Xbox LIVE subscribers will be able to access – on demand – many of SBS’s programs and series including its flagship food and documentary titles.

Michael Ebeid, SBS Managing Director said: “SBS is committed to ensuring our audiences can access our content across a range of platforms. We are excited to be partnering with Microsoft as Xbox LIVE embarks on this exciting new chapter.”

David McLean, Consumer Channels Group Lead, Microsoft Australia said: “SBS has a diverse catalogue of content that is identifiable for a number of Australians making them the perfect fit for this sort of project. Couple that with the unique experience that comes with Kinect, where with the wave of a hand and soon voice command**, Xbox is creating brand new ways for people to interact with their entertainment. It can be television with no controllers and no remotes!”

The partnership with Microsoft has been developed to meet consumer demand for digital television and will be available to Xbox LIVE subscribers in coming months.
