Starcom kicks off campaign for Ten's Terra Nova

Starcom MediaVest Group Brisbane, in conjunction with Absolute Media and Network Ten marketing, has launched a major campaign for Network Ten’s new blockbuster, Terra Nova.

Produced by a team that includes Peter Chernin and Steven Spielberg, Terra Nova follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as part of a daring experiment to save the human race.

The campaign includes executions across outdoor and radio. Two trucks in Brisbane, and one each for Sydney and Melbourne, will travel around the capital cities for seven days featuring crates with warning signs on them. Those in the vicinity of the truck will hear the sound of a dinosaur coming from within the crate. The low growling sound builds to a banging noise similar to that of the crate breaking and the dinosaur escaping.

With the show being filmed primarily at Movie World on the Gold Coast, the strategy behind the campaign was to give everyday Australian’s a taste of life on Terra Nova.

Caleb Watson, General Manager of Starcom Brisbane said: “This campaign is another example of Starcom, and Absolute Media, taking a concept and creating an experience for the general public. We believe this level of engagement with consumers, will lead to a curiosity of Terra Nova and translate to viewers tuning in throughout the season.”

The campaign is currently live.

Terra Nova, premieres Sunday October 2, 8.30pm on TEN.
