Starcom to send roving reporter to Cannes after winning staff competition

Starcom MediaVest has announced that Sydney Digital Planner, Jeremy Bost, will travel to the Cannes Lions 58th International Festival of Creativity at the end of June as a roving reporter after winning its staff competition.

As a roving reporter, Bost will report back to his peers in the form of regular blogs on everything he sees and hears, including the prestigious Cannes Lions Awards.

All staff across Starcom’s Australian offices were encouraged to view an online TED presentation and report back via blog.

This competition further cements Starcom’s commitment to its ‘Space for ideas’ initiative, which prides itself on creating a culture at the agency based around fresh thinking and opportunities to live out new and different experiences.

On this exciting competition win Bost said: “This is certainly a highlight in my career so far. I am looking forward to being able to tell my own story of what I hear and observe during my time in Cannes.

“What a fantastic opportunity to see the best of our industry on a global scale while sharing these experiences with the team back home.”

Starcom MediaVest Australia CEO John Sintras said: “We are so pleased that we are able to provide this great opportunity to one of our own. Jeremy has shown true creativity in his competition entry and really deserves this opportunity to share his experience of the festival with the Australian network. We are looking forward to seeing the insights that his perspective will bring.”

Bost joined Starcom’s digital team in 2009 following the completion of a Masters in Marketing. During his time at Starcom he has worked on a number of clients including Malaysia Airlines, RIM and UBS.
