Starcom creates new forum to invite industry debate

Starcom will invite industry debate among media buyers and planners in what it believes to be an industry-first event, bringing agencies and media professionals together with leading spokespeople to discuss key issues facing the media industry.

On Tuesday August 31 Starcom will host the first in what will be a series of speaker sessions over the coming months, aimed at sharing real industry insights about the future of the media industry.

Starcom MediaVest Group Sydney Managing Director Bob Goodge said: “There are plenty of senior spokespeople to opine about the future of media, however we rarely give a broader sweep of our people the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.

“We hope these speaker sessions will attract a broad spread of both media and non media people to enter into the debate about where the industry is going, how we will get there and what impact it will have.”

The event will open with a discussion about major events that are shaping the industry.

This will be followed by an open debate moderated by Starcom executives where everybody will be encouraged to have their say.

The event is expected to attract agency executives, clients, media students and all levels of media people working in the industry, bringing professionals together in a productive social environment designed to give all voices equal share.

Starcom’s inaugural speaker session takes place at 7pm on Tuesday August 31 at the Lord Nelson Hotel in The Rocks. Future events will feature key spokespeople from a diverse range of other media channels.
