Sugar online network scores 600% increase for Golden Globes coverage

Allure Media’s new Australian women’s online network – PopSugar.com.au, BellaSugar.com.au and FabSugar.com.au – posted a 600% increase in daily page views with its seven-hour coverage of the Golden Globes yesterday.

“We had an absolutely stellar day on the Sugar network. The sites’ as-it-happens coverage throughout the day on the Golden Globes, from the red carpet arrivals to the award ceremony, press room interviews to the after-parties kick off was a hit,” said Allure Media Managing Director Chris Janz.

“The average session duration was almost seven minutes, and we were thrilled with the volume of quality entertainment: over 120 posts produced in real-time with the broadcasting of the Golden Globes in Los Angeles. And this is just the beginning of awards and fashion season coverage for the network.”

The Sugar online network focuses on creating the richest, most relevant online community for trendsetting, passionate young  women.

Australia is just the third market for Sugar Inc, which is backed by renowned Silicon Valley venture capital group Sequoia.

Celebrity and entertainment site www.popsugar.com.au, fashion site www.fabsugar.com.au and beauty site www.bellasugar.com.au were the first sites launched here in November last year. More local Sugar sites will be rolled out progressively.

Sugar Inc, www.sugarinc.com, a network with 14 online sites dedicated to women’s lifestyle and a massive 10 million unique visitors a month, is based in San Francisco with a second operation in the UK.
