Background

Together is an initiative of The Climate Group, a global, independent non-profit organisation dedicated to building public-private partnerships to find solutions to climate change. Together launched in the UK in 2007 with Tony Blair and in the US earlier this year.

Our objectives were to stage a major media launch event that would clearly set the tone and foundation for the heavyweight nature of the project and position Together as a significant climate change initiative and to create an ongoing PR strategy.

Results

Julia Gillard, then Acting Prime Minister, launched Together at the Sydney Opera House. The event attracted a much higher than expected media attendance, including crews/representatives from all commercial TV networks plus ABC and SBS. National coverage resulted. Ongoing PR has seen a direct correlation to significant spikes in traffic to www.together.com/au after each major piece of coverage, according to Google Analytics.
